Industry Resources
Signature Experiences
All too often, Ecuador and the Galápagos are reduced to a checklist. Amazing Ecuador takes care to design experiences that go beyond surface level. Some excursions curated for previous clients include:
Microplastic Cleanup & Art: Collect ocean-borne plastics on remote Galapagos beaches and watch local artisans transform them into handcrafted art.
Highland Farm Traditions: Join a Galapagueño family to explore coffee and cacao groves, followed by a traditional homemade lunch, and time on the beach.
Catch & Connect: Sail to hidden coves for a day of coastal fishing and snorkeling, followed by a private seafood lunch on a beach accessible only by water.
Ancestral Mainland Flavors: Experience the cultural depth of the mainland through Southern Ecuadorian cooking techniques and Afro-Ecuadorian folklore.
Why Ecuador?
Most travelers arrive for the Galápagos Islands, a wildlife destination that unfolds like the pages of National Geographic.
What often surprises them, however, is the diversity of the mainland packed into a space roughly the size of Colorado. The Amazon, the Andes, the Cloud Forest, and the Pacific Coast are neighbors rather than distant destinations. Because of this compact geography, Ecuador is a natural slow-travel destination; you can experience a dramatic shift in landscape and culture without spending days in transit.
The wildlife explorations don't end in the Galápagos. As a global heavyweight in biodiversity, the country is home to nearly 1,600 bird species (about 15% of the world's total) and over 4,000 species of orchids. For lovers of natural beauty, the Andes provides a world-class backdrop that is accessible regardless of activity level. The views are just as stunning from the porch of a historic hacienda as they are from a high-altitude trail.
Beyond the scenery, Ecuador’s richness lies in how its history remains a functional part of the present. Indigenous traditions haven't been relegated to museums; they have adapted alongside modernity, visible in everything from daily market life to contemporary design.
For those drawn to art, this is a tactile destination. The country’s reputation for master-level textiles and handicrafts is built on techniques passed down through generations that are still in use today. This same continuity is fueling the culinary scene. By reclaiming ancestral ingredients once overlooked, chefs in Quito are creating a sophisticated, high-energy food culture that is beginning to rival Lima’s for the most interesting in South America.
About the founders
Paúl Peralvo & Santiago Granda
Paúl and Santi founded Amazing Ecuador from the belief that a traveler's experience is only as deep as the local expertise behind it. Their partnership bridges the gap between high-level national strategy and the fine details of on-the-ground operations.
Paúl, who grew up on his grandparents’ farm at the foot of the Carihuairazo volcano, brings a lifetime of connection to the Andean landscape and fifteen years of luxury travel management. Santi, an outdoorsman who served as Ecuador’s Vice Minister of Tourism Promotion, provides an unmatched understanding of the country’s infrastructure and community-led conservation.
Together, they act as well-connected local partners, designing seamless journeys that treat every guest as an invited friend.
“Tourism can affect local destinations in both positive and negative ways. We want to make communities an active component of the places we visit. Rivers are everywhere, mountains are everywhere... what makes places different is the people. How rich their culture is, how rich their gastronomy is, the stories they have.”
